Harry Edward Styles is an English singer, songwriter, and musician from England. He was one of the members of One Direction. Born at Holmes Chapel (Cheshire), England, on 1 February 1994, he is the son Des Styles, and Anne Cox. Harry Styles was a student at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School where, along with three schoolmates, he founded his own band called White Eskimo. White Eskimo won 2009's Battle of Bands thanks to the impressive presentation they made. The musician always had an interest in music but was enthused to be a lawyer or physical therapy. In the past, he was employed for a short time in a bakeshop within his town to help financially at home. Harry Styles, in 2010, auditioned to be on The X Factor. His song Is not She Lovely was recorded by Stevie Wonder. The group had to separate. Nicole Scherzinger, the jury member of The X Factor suggested Harry Styles to join the band One Direction with Liam Payne Zayn Mlik Niall Horan Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne. Simon Cowell sponsored the young group in 2010. The band of five was backed by Simon Cowell and performed Kelly Clarkson's My Life Would Suck without You and Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart. They were among the most competitive groups in the competition. But they finished in third place in the third place, behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle. Harry Styles, his group as well as Cowell didn't win the competition. However Cowell provided Harry Styles a 2 million pound contract to sign up with Syco.
