Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. Paquin, born in Winnipeg and was raised by Wellington Paquin's mother, made her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath. For this role, she won the Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress in The romantic drama The Piano at the young age of 11. She is the second youngest winner in Oscar history. Anna Paquin's full name is Anna Helene Paquin. Born on July 24, 1982, on the 24th of July 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was an Canadian born New Zealand actress. As a child, Paquin won the Academy Award for best support actress. Her role as the enthusiastic and lively girl of Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) earned her the honor. She was cast as Flora McGrath the daughter of the muffled Scottish pianist who in the late 19th century relocates to New Zealand for an arranged marriage when she responded to an open audition call when she was just nine years old, and had no prior experience in acting. At the age of a teen the family relocated from Canada and eventually to United States. Paquin was the main character in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and had a minor part in the film as Jane Eyre in the film when she was still a toddler. Paquin portrayed Frankie Addams as a child in the 1996 television film adaptation Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin was also in the role of Queen of Spain, in Steven Spielbergs 1997 film Amistad. She played teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) and Almost Famous (2000). Also, she played the character of Polexia Aphrodisa.
