
Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon was born on the 22nd of March, 1976. She has been the recipient of many awards, such as an Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. Time magazine and Forbes both included her in the top 100 most influential individuals around the world in both 2005 and in 2006 respectively. Forbes declared her the world's most successful actress in 2021. Witherspoon has an estimated income of $400 million. Witherspoon made her screen debut in The Man in the Moon (1991). In 1999, she appeared as acting as a supporting actor in Cruel Intentions and in the role of Tracy Flick in Election. Elle Woods, a comedy comedy (2001), as well as its sequel in 2003 brought her greater recognition. She also starred in Sweet Home Alabama (2002) the romantic comedy. She was awarded the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in the musical biopic Walk the Line. Following a career downturn, in which her only box office success was the romantic drama Water for Elephants (2011), Witherspoon made a comeback with the production and role of Cheryl Strayed in the drama Wild (2014) that brought her a second nomination for Best Actress at the Academy Awards. Since then, she's been working mostly in television, producing and starring in a variety of female-led literary adaptations for her company Hello Sunshine. These include the HBO drama series Big Little Lies (2017-2019) and The Apple TV+ drama series The Morning Show (2019-present), and the Hulu miniseries Little Fires Everywhere (2020). She was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Limited Series for the first one. She also wrote and directed the movies Gone Girl (2014), and Where the Crawdads Sing (222). She is a part of the Children's Defense Fund's board and was appointed Global Ambassador of Avon Products in 2007. In that capacity, she serves as the honorary chair for Avon Foundation's charitable foundation dedicated to women's issues.
